San Diego NewsSan Diego County Gets Disaster GuideResidents can get directory after wildfire, other disasters By City News Service • Thu, Sep 2nd, 2010(CNS) - A 184-page guide unveiled today is intended to assist San Diego County residents who have lost a home or business to wildfire or other disaster. ![]() The Red Guide To Recovery. Courtesy photo The so-called Red Guide to Recovery will be given out by firefighters on the scene of a disaster. It contains phone numbers and information on emergency shelters, rentals, insurance, chemical clean-up, land clearance, building contractors, trauma intervention and grief counseling. The pocket-sized guide was the idea of a community member, Sean Scott, and was created through the San Diego County Office of Emergency Services with help from county Supervisor Bill Horn, the American Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties and the San Diego Fire Chiefs Association.
