Isaiah Armenta, starting pitcher for the Park View team, started strong with five strike outs through three innings but the Chinese went ahead 3-0 including a home run.

The Park View team came back with a run in the bottom of the third on one of the fielding errors from the Chinese on a bases loaded grounder from Bradley Roberto to start the rally that won the game.

In the fourth inning, the Chinese team had loaded the bases when two of their batters were hit with pitches and the Park View pitcher walked a third. The Chinese pitcher hit a hot grounder that Andy Rios at shortstop scooped up, tagged the second base runner and then whipped a throw to Luke Ramirez at first base to retire the side with no new runs.

Kiko Garcia's relief pitching (reaching speeds equivalent to major league pitches of 95 mph) sealed the win by not giving up a single hit to the Chinese batters.

The game ended on his third strike out of four final batters in the top of the 5th. (Little League plays 6 innings) It was a solid performance for the Blue Bombers from Chula Vista although they won without a single home run, departing from their pattern in the series. The Chinese team who hit three home runs committted as many errors while the Chula Vista team went error free.

This was the first ever win for a California team against the Chinese Taipei team who had won the series 17 times.
