February 10-13, at M Bride Salon in La Jolla, designer Michelle Rahn will host a couture trunk show and designer appearance featuring her bridal gowns, accessories, and brand new styles for next season. The designer will personally meet with brides (by appointment) help them shop the collection, style their overall bridal look, and offer all design tweaks they want.Making subtle and individual changes to silhouette, fabric, beading, and embellishment, Rahn encourages brides to create a gown perfectly suited to their taste.

This is an exclusive and special opportunity for brides to shop the entire Michelle Rahn collection and meet and collaborate with the designer herself.Brides will enjoy a 10% discount during the show.

From her home spot in Chicago, Rahn travels from Los Angeles to San Francisco and farther. Rahn arrives in La Jolla on Thursday for this once-in-a-lifetime bridal opportunity. What sets Rahn apart from other designers and M Bride event from other traditional trunk shows, is the individual and hands-on approach she gives to brides, hoping to give them exactly what they want.

“I work with brides directly. I offer changes. Every bride wants a unique touch. We can accommodate them by taking a silhouette and customizing and personalizing it to fit the brides’ wants,” Rahn says.“In my Chicago store, that’s they way we do things. We help you to create your perfect dress.”

Rahn continues, “Bridal trends in the last seven years have become more fashion forward. Today brides follow fashion. Brides are very aware of what’s coming down the runway. They still want a traditional look, but they’re also much more willing to take a chance and not look as cookie cutter. They are an educated consumer.”

Bridal gowns have even branched out to include more daring colors for gowns and shoes, more unique fabrics like tulle, organza, and silk crepe--and lots of accessories. In many ways veils have been replaced by other kinds of accessories—belts, hairpieces with feathers, and arm cuffs.Rahn offers her own line of Swarovski Crystal all hand-made belts. Rahn says they’re one of her biggest sellers.

The silhouette of the gowns has also evolved. Two years ago the favorite look was the “fit and flair”, similar to a mermaid style. Today it’s all big and puffy, next year Rahn predicts, a slimmer sheath.

Rahm is as much a small boutique couture house as much as an individual designer. “We offer the collection plus the added bonus of our individual attention,”she says.

Brides visiting the M Bride event this week will get a chance to look at the full collection, but also make a gown for themselves exactly like they’ve always dreamed.
